Leaks we repair

Water through the ceiling?
Water showing on a ceiling may have travelled a long way along a joist from the actual leak. We trace it back to the source so the repair fixes the problem the first time.

Questions people ask
Where is my stopcock?
Most often under the kitchen sink. Other common spots are a downstairs toilet, the airing cupboard, or under the floor near the front door. In flats it may be in a communal cupboard.
How can I stop pipes freezing?
Keep the heating on low during cold spells, lag pipes in lofts and outside walls, and fix dripping taps and overflows, which freeze easily.
